We need to interpret Bible verses in context and recognize it is God’s will we seek, not ours. Stewardship Bible verses or other Bible verses are important to followers of Jesus simply because they could guide them to the abundant life that Jesus promised.
Christians are stewards of God’s resources. We come to be greater stewards when we study to deal God’s way with anxiousness, trust, temptation, individuals, and when we confess our sins to Jesus routinely.
Memorizing Bible verses aids us handle every day life-troubles God’s way. That is why I was thrilled, even though astonished, when I found in an attic, 5 stewardship Bible verses dealing with anxiousness, trust, temptation, people, and confession.
Shortly following I surrendered my life to Jesus the Messiah in 1985, I had a vision of an attic with 5 substantial colored boxes. Every box had a big bold letter from the word attic. Beneath each letter was a word beginning with that letter, and a Bible verse. Numerous mornings as I jogged, this picture became far more lucid.
1 morning about five:00 AM when jogging in Brisbane, Australia, the image of the attic was so vivid I returned to my hotel to attempt to process what was happening. At the hotel, I transcribed the vision.
As I reflected on this vision, I realized it referred to my everyday stroll with Jesus. It seemed to be the base for a structured way to have further time with the Lord. I sensed my attic was a way for me to withdraw often to see God’s hand in the moment.
These are 5 words on five boxes in my attic, each and every with its stewardship Bible verse:
Anxiety – Philippians four:6-7
Trust – Proverbs three:5-six
Temptation – 1 Corinthians 10:13
Inner Concentrate – 1 Samuel 16: six-7
Confession – 1 John 1:9
Anxiety
Two to 3 instances everyday I verify to see whether or not events are overtaking me, and I am becoming, or am anxious. Perhaps I am in a stressful meeting, or functioning to a tight deadline.
When I sense anxiousness, I withdraw to a quiet location, often the bathroom, and mull more than Philippians four:6-7. These verses remind me not to be anxious but pray, be thankful to God, give him my concerns, and he will give me a profound peace.
I present my circumstance to God, ask him to help me accept exactly where I am, what I have, and give me peace to deal with it. The aim is his peace, not a answer to the problem. Recalling these verses many instances each day, praying and believing them help me see alternatives. It is complicated to evaluate scenarios when tensed and anxious.
Trust
This is my fantastic challenge. I try to do items in my personal strength alternatively of leaning on Jesus. That’s why everyday as my activities challenge me, I withdraw frequently to evaluate how I am doing, and recall Proverbs 3:5-six. These stewardship Bible verses inform me to trust in the Lord and lean on him, and he will make my path straight. This does not mean I will get the resolution I seek merely, that when I operate to God’s ambitions, with his assistance, I do his will, and I get a peace that is tricky to realize.
Temptation
1 of the great assurances in the Bible is this stewardship Bible verse: 1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV):
No temptation has overtaken you that is not frequent to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your capability, but with the temptation he will also give the way of escape, that you could be able to endure it.
Every day, I have to try to remember that I cannot blame any person when I fall. The Devil did not “make me do it.” Faced with temptation, I pray this verse and ask God to assist me see and comply with his path. I know it is there and I have to have his strength to override my fleshly desires. Still, from time to time I reject his path.
When Samuel went to Jesse’s house to anoint the next king of Israel, as Jesse’s boys entered the space, Samuel saw Eliab and from his external appearances thought he have to be the one particular. God told Samuel he did not pick out Eliab. God reminded Samuel that God appears on the inside but men and women appear on the outside (1 Samuel 16:six-7).
Typically I have withdrawn and prayed this verse, specifically when I interview, counsel, or meet an individual. I know external appearances influence my pondering, and so I need to seek God’s aid routinely to overcome this flaw.
Confession
Happily, at day’s end I critique events, go to the attic, and recollect 1 John 1:9. I ask the Lord to show me incidents I need to have to confess. I confess, repent and ask him to cleanse me. He does, as promised.
Summary
Daily, being conscious of these stewardship Bible verses heighten my awareness for fantastic stewardship in all elements of life, not only with dollars.
Frequent withdrawals to my attic to seek God’s guidance to respond to events permit me to live in the moment and raise time with him.
Time in my attic has shown me how to be more alert and responsive to the presence of the Lord in day-to-day activities.
